(10/06/25) From the Studio: Mercury Enters Scorpio

Hello Friends!

I am sending this newsletter at 9:40am PST on Monday October, 6th 2025 as Mercury - the planet of communication, enters the sign of Scorpio  - re: potent transformation. Today also happens to be the Full Moon of Libra season. What a beautiful day to celebrate and alchemize the role communication plays in the development of our relationships. 

Mercury's shift into Scorpio is happening within two degrees of the Ascendant for True Will Studio. (Yes, I did pick an exact “birth” moment for my business based on registering with the Department of Revenue here in Washington State!)

For me, astrology is about finding right relationship with the universe. By itself, this day is just another day. Infused with my intention, this day becomes an opportunity to align myself with universal rhythms. Life is the ritual we make it. This first newsletter is a ritual in and of itself, reflecting a broader pattern of Mercury's role in the cosmos. Still, I'm always asking myself, how can I take this a layer deeper?

The Sabian symbols are a set of images, one for each degree of every zodiac sign, that were clairvoyantly derived by Elsie Wheeler in 1925 and interpreted by Marc Edmund Jones, then Dane Rudhyar (one of my favorite astrologers!). Here is a link to my favorite website for Sabian Symbols. These images are a beautiful way to add another layer of meaning to any astrological study. So, let's go a layer deeper by exploring the symbol for the ascendant of True Will Studio. With Sabian symbols, we always round up to the next degree value. Since the TWS ascendant is at 2 degrees and 24 minutes of Scorpio, we round up to 3.

 The symbol for 3 degrees of Scorpio is “A house raising party in a small village enlists neighbors cooperation”. Scorpio is about the intensity of change and the inter-personal exchange of resources (in relation to the opposite sign of Taurus which focuses on the individual's resources). This degree considers how we can change our future for the better when we participate within community. The image below comes from Japanese artist Ruby Fumizki. How can I ritualize this Sabian symbol for True Will Studio?

I believe a good ritual starts with embracing what we already HAVE. My journey to forming True Will Studio has only been possible because of community. I am thankful for my mentors Mystical Mandrake Root, Jeff Hinshaw, Bruna Maia, Meire Santos, Adriana Rizzolo, Harshada Wagner, and Jesse Johnson. Plus, I want to give a special shout-out to my peers: Colleen Pellisier, Bee Hollyn, Gin Gavran, and Maddie Robertson (launching soon!). 

 I am also thankful to see the blossoming of support through my local Wenatchee community since my business launched in August. Here are two places you can find me during October!
